Impulsive Decisions
Have you ever took decisions in your life quickly, without giving a second thought, not thinking about consequences and later realised of taking wrong decisions?
I will give you a quick example from my life itself, when I want to buy any dress for myself, I sometimes never give a second thought, I even support myself with thoughts like, “May be that dress will be out of stock soon. May be the price of that dress can increase. May be there can be any unplanned occasion in future and I could wear this.” In reality I don’t have any emergency of buying that dress, yet I make an Impulsive decision of buying it just because I liked it. So let’s understand what’s Impulsive decision is about.
An impulsive behaviour is when you act quickly without giving any thought about the aftereffects. There’s nothing on your mind beyond that at the moment and we feel right about it. This generally happens when there is a lack of self control. It not only costs money as given in the example above, sometimes it costs the relations which we have in our life. In our fast paced life, we want everything to happen quickly and we sometimes don’t have time to understand about the situation others were put in. The status of being “active" on social media doesn’t mean the person himself is “active”enough at that moment right? Yet, we lose our words sometimes and break the relations we have in our lives, and make very quick decisions, just because of some disturbance caused at the spur of the moment.
Sometimes, taking decisions quickly is important when we think we are in the loop of making a “perfect decision” and wasting a lot of time. In general training your mind, to think twice before making a decision, when you know that your decision may cost money, time or relationships you have in your life is important.
